The Exorcism of Harry PotterSpoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert!
Last Sunday, me and my younger bro were mulling over what to watch. The choice was either "The Exorcism of Emily Blah Blah" or "Goblet of Fire". Eventually, the child in our hearts triumphed.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was set on the time of the Triwizard Event and Harry's 14th year of age (...and yes, he's too humongous for a 14 year old). For some mysterious reasons, despite strict age restriction, Harry has been chosen as (more strangely) the fourth Champion of the contest. Of course, along the storyline, events unfold linking the "bad guys" behind all of these schemes. In the end, even after Potter grabbing the Triwizard title and busting the bad guys, the father of all Potter antagonists - he whose name must not be mentioned - Lord Baldemort (spell check) has been able to be brought back to life by his nefarious minions. So yeah, of course there should be a sequel because Lord Baldemort has never been heard of again in the last scenes.
All in all, it was a nice "sit-here-let's-talk-about-the-movie" film. It was something you should watch while chatting with a friend (Potter-fan or not... I prefer it "not" though for I don't want to end up anticipating for spoilers). However, I don't think those who have no backgrounds whatsoever regarding this whole Harry Potter world will have a hard time catching up with the details in the movie: "What does Baldemort has to do with Harry?"; "Who is Serius (spell check, demmit) Black?". Stuffs like that were never explained well in the film.
On Cho Chang: well, I am now certain that Heart Evangelista is not fit to grab the role. The Ravenclaw student - a year older than Harry - has this general appeal that exudes childishness in her manners. Heart, with her mature features, despite being a very good actress will only portray an out-of-character Cho Chang. Heart is outright beautiful but Katie Leung is simply charming.
Ron, Harry, and Hermione are not getting any younger... and it's getting too obvious in each sequels of Potter films. They should have filmed the movie on short intervals to cope up with the fast-growing casts.
But then again, the director's problem is not mines. =)

letrang AC: gento yun e... pag book-reader ka ng Harrey Pottah, you will never appreciate the film. pero pag casual movie-goer ka lang (like me) and innocent ka sa whole Pottah world na yan, then the movie will appear to be great. hehe.
