Weekend Reports
Saturday
Balloon Festival 08
Attendance: Pork, Pookiemonster, Pochollo, Fluffy, Crispy Beef, Chopsuey
We arrived at the events field by around 11AM. I've just known then that the IPMS-BAC has an exhibit of model aircrafts and miniature kits there so some of us (including me) were able to get in for free via an official events crew ID provided for Sir Mel's honchos.
In display...
Location: Hangar Bay 2 (rightmost hangar if we're facing towards the runway)
* International Plastic Modellers Society - Bert Anido Chapter - pant... pant... pant! - (IPMS-BAC) exhibited some of their members' model aircrafts and miniature kits. Our very own pal, Fritz, has some projects in display.
* an organization of remote-controlled aircraft enthusiasts showcased their "toys".
* a gallery of photos taken from the event itself has its own display section.
* aeronautic schools' booths were setup to recruit new enrollees.
Location: Hangar Bay 1 (the hangar adjacent to the main entrance)
* S211 jet on static display.
* military men posers a.k.a. airsoft cosplayers were strutting around. They were distinctive from the regular soldiers because they were either too flabby to be real jarheads or toting hi-tech guns and wares that the local military can only dream of in its entire existence. Pwede magpa-photo ops sa kanila. yun talaga silbi nila.
* our army men... the real McCoys... eto yung mga taong ibinabala ng Pilipinas sa kanyon laban sa mga terorista. Meron silang sariling section.
* World War 2 jeepneys with real Army drivers on the drivers seat.
So we just ogled at everything in display and repeatedly wished for somebody among us to actually have accidentally brought a cam (or a camera would have just appeared out of nowhere).
Location: Open Field behind Hangar Bay 2
* Pinoy tanks on static display. there was a Simba, a British-engineered Scorpion, and an M113 variant.
* Kapamilya caravan with variety shows.
* kite flyers. LOTS!
* one long food arcade.
By around 2 in the afternoon, we went off the premise for a while then drove to the Marina Arcade in Dau for another military-gears raid! It was only the first week of February and we have visited Marina for like thrice already this year! Insanity over military jujus, I say. I was able to purchase a military OD walking shorts that I outrightly wore. I'd still preferred wandering around in shorts than in pants.
Back in the Clark fields, nakaramdam na kami ng kumukulong tiyan (wala yung tindero ng calamares sa Dau) so we eyed this German booth that served Veal and Hungarian sausages. Yub yub yub! To combo our sausages, nag-order din kami ng sauerkraut (German atsara) at authentic German beer (Pilsener)! Na aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang sarap. Taena kulang pa espasyo sa madaming "a" to describe it. May nagustuhan akong beer dati sa Sydney (Toohey's) kasi para siyang may lasang San Mig Lights. Pero itong German pilsener mas maganda yung pagka-malty niya. Just right not to be too much and not too lacking to taste almost like water.
* acrobatic display of two light airplanes by Pinoy pilots.
* fly-by run of a sleek, state-of-the-art chopper.
* a Malaysian para-glider wandered around the Clark field airspace.
Ang ironic, it was a balloon-fest but no balloons was able to inflate all the time we were there. Malakas kasi ang hangin. We basically just gave up and called it a day, then headed to Aling Lucing's - the mecca of pork SISIG! Wahhhoooow!
Sisig massacre ensued, before we headed back home. Tambay at da Shak, afterwards, for a wrap-up.

Sunday
Somalia Battle Creek Brawl 08
Attendance: Chopsuey, Junbacca, Kornpleks, Inggo, The Boss, Jeng, Garrkid, and the rest of Gemini's Private Army
Location: San Jose del Monte, Bulacan (Team SJAG's gamesite)
* it was the second day of the Battle Creek Brawl but the airsoft adiks still numbered almost 30 against 30.
* Layla - my HK51 submachine gun - was out-of-action, as Bilog tinkered with its internals from the major stoppage it did the last time I fielded the gun.
* Lawnmower - my AK74 assault rifle - did the job the whole day... and boy, it did well. I was still awed with its new color. Ang gwapa gwapang baril. Mwah mwah.
* the game was generally nice sans some minor reports of Zombies prowling.
Contractor-look starting a trend. Truly, you can take the ass out of the jack but you can't take the looks out of a jackass. Hehe, wala akong naintindihan sa sinabi ko.
Location: Dolores Chicharon (Sta. Maria, Bulacan)
* going ga-ga over chicharon. Bumili ako ng isang plastik na backfat, chicharon, at isaw manok. Yub yub! Sakitan ng batok afterwards.
Dinner at Nato's afterwards. Truly, two headz are better than none. Walang nag-Pulang Kabayo, this time. Bawal. Wala si Val. Hehe.
Sabay tambay ulet sa Shak before going home at around 2AM.
