Iskolar ng Bayan

After going out of the office last Saturday... groggily with a only mere 2 hour sleep, I headed straight to Mang's Pit Shop near SM Centerpoint to meet Arvin - also a player of Warhammer 40K. Pit Shop is a hobbying store primarily catering to remote control cars, but also selling Warhammer 40K stuffs at more affordable prices so possibly iL be frequenting his shop more on the coming days. Mang is a 40K player himself.

After that, me and Arvin headed to what they call "the Shak" - a modelling haven, as Arvin described it. It's typically a garage space somewhere in QC converted into a workshop which literally fits the description of a modelling haven. With every painting/modelling/sculpting tools at their disposal and an apt area to work at, the Shak is definitely a cooL hangout to tinker with our miniatures.

Anyway, we met the rest of the "Shak Boys" there before heading to UP Diliman. The Shak Boys are the regular tambays of the Shak and mostly are also 40K players.

We went to UP Diliman for the IPMS's regular Saturday Build Sessions. IPMS (International Plastic Modellers Society - tama ba? hehe...) is an internationally reknowned group of modellers and their local arm here in the Philippines supports hobby genre from the regular Tamiya miniatures (airplanes, tanks, ships, and vehicles) to those of Mecha Pinoy's (Gundam Mechs), and recently to our very own Warhammer miniature.

The Build Sessions were basically a time for modelling miniatures and sharing of knowledge about the craft... and of course a bit of bouts of hilarious witticisms. It was held at the UP College of Fine Arts (Koredor), and last Saturday we arrived there with classes still on-going.

The experience was fun, and the fact that I haven't noticed how time passed and that I still haven't had a good sleep that day was a testament of it.

Our work area... That's my toolbox with the Mossimo sticker.

Sarap pa ng tokneneng at fishboLs sa labas.

One of the IPMS-BAC members celebrated his birthday so we've had our share of cake and pizza slices. Salamat pow and haberdey!

Sunday, I should have been off for the Jam Cup Tournament for Warhammer 40K in the Glorietta 2 Atrium but because of my extended sleepless spree the day before, I hardly can bear myself to even sit on my bed! My back was glued to my mattress! Sayang, gusto ko pa naman talaga sumali. It was my first 40K tournament if ever.

Now, iL just have to wait for the Kolat Cup. Incoming this October.
