Walkway Drama

For the past two years that I've been working here in the Paseo de Roxas area of Ayala Avenue (no, I'm not a street sweeper), I almost always passed by the long Dela Rosa walkway connecting the Ayala Malls (SM, Glorietta, Landmark, and Greenbelt) to the commercial buildings along Ayala Avenue. Today, iL take a peek on what happened this afternoon as I stroll along the route.

*****

Here's a thread of text messages my mom and I had kanina while I'm walking in the walkway...

Mommy-Smart: obi, kumain ka ba pag gising? dito pa kami bon sa index. dala mo baon mo? nasa ref. asan kna?
Obi-Ako: dala ko baon. Glo nko. magpayong kayo. uulan.
Mommy-Smart: ok. *smiley*

Mama's Boy na Mama's Boy ang dating ko no.

I always have to suffer moving behind sloth-paced bystanders when passing on the walkway! Oks, casual strolling is forgivable if it's inside the mall... it's a mall anyway! But outright sluggishness on a busy rush-hour walkway when you're not incapacitated is just stupid to say the least!

Both mall-bound and Ayala-bound routes are sure to be congested during rush-hours. Office workers were either rushing to go home for their families or rushing to go to the office to finish whatever pending works they need to do. The only way for anyone to go to their destinations the quickest way is to brisk walk, WHICH majority of the people passing by the walkway around those times is exactly doing.

I mean, would you be that careless enough to strut where everybody's on a bottleneck behind you?

MADAPAKA SANA!

If you happen to pass by the walkway recently, there's a good chance you've seen a couple of guys in red shirts and caps running here and there. They are finalists for the Marlboro Red Racing School activities being held here in Makati. Eventually, they will be thinned down to several participants and actually will race in Subic on the coming months.

Fortunately, one of my Justice League tropa made it as a participant of the said event. He deserves it anyway. I remember this day when we were heading to Libis and he was literally pushing his car to the limits, almost shoving fender to fender with a God-knows-how many wheeler cargo truck that behemoth was.

Congrats DD! Galingan mo repaks. Hehe.
