Kidnappers for A Day
It was cool to be a bandit for a while and earn by just goofing all day.

The boyz of da Shak were contracted by Channel 2 to play as Abu Sayyaf members who kidnapped the group of reporter, Ces Drilon, for a reenactment shoot. So Arvs went into contacting some of the boyz who could fit into the role. Sakto, I've been too lazy to shave my Abe Lincoln-ish beard last week.
Our set was shot at the La Mesa Eco Center and it was amazing to finally be able to see a film production at work. Everything was set up efficiently quick! The production crew worked like they have symbiotic presence of mind... kapag kailangan ng ilaw or props, the director just needed saying it and naka setup na agad lahat in an eye-blink. How much more if it was for a big movie, di ba? Ang galing! In short, I was not much fascinated by the story we acted out but more into how the short flick was produced. Ganun pala yun. Astig.
Anyway, the director and the rest of the crew were very nice. We were just goofing around the whole day and having fun while we shoot the whole thing. Jep told me it was not always like that in a shooting. So baka nga mabait lang talaga yung direktor at crew na nakasama namin. Angas. Good job.
We also had the perk (if it is) of knowing some of the real story behind the kidnapping and how the ordeal went through. And what's sooo cool was that Che (the lady who played Ces) actually wore the clothes that Miss Drilon have worn when she was kidnapped... clothes, jeans, and even her muddied shoes! Astig.
Aside from Karlo who played as one of the cameraman and Mayor Fred who's just too white to look like a bandit, the rest of us had our own shares of terrorist "moments" in the clip. It was funny to see da boyz in their most kontrabida faces that I could barely restrain my sorry arse to laugh, hehe. Umulan that day, kaya may idle time na nagkukulitan lang kami which is just usual when two or more Shak boyz congregate. Kaya hindi ko ma-imagine na despite the jovial air, nakapag focus pa din si Che to play her part well lalo na dun sa more serious parts where she has to look tormented. Good job.
The documentary will be shown in Channel 2 on Sunday, right after "Bandila". I think.

While writing this I'm getting in the mood to go on a political rant. Pero sa ibang araw na lang... magtutunog AM radio na naman blog ko. Hahaha!
