Alam Mong Niyebe ang Snow?

Nalaman ko lang yun dahil sa cartoons na "Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa". Si Becky kasi e.

Day 1
*We (Marvs, Yuki, Dens, Miss Dynes, and me) left St. Leonards for Oxford St. minutes past 3am.
*Met with the Tuesday Group (Jovic Moya, Drandreb Villesa, Billy Joe Crawford, Michael Locsin) in Oxford St... joke lang. Met with Tian, Eka, Bubung, and Chiqui there.
*Then both cars headed to Cabramatta to fetch Cindy. Around an hour drive.
*We left Cabramatta for Canberra afterwards. Two or so more hours.

Trivia: Canberra is to Australian Capital Territory as Sydney is to New South Wales.

*Stop over at Canberra for some of Cindy's chicken rolls. Yub yub!
*Arrival at Jindabyne. Three hours after. Estimated 300km of travel in all.

Interactivity: To know how far we travelled check this site -->
http://www.whereis.com/whereis/directions.do
In the "From" section, type St Leonards... State is NSW
In the "To" section, type Jindabyne... State is still NSW

View from above... hangkyut parang langgam!

*We got the rented gears and grub-stuffed (burger yub yub!) before heading to Smiggins for the snows. Thirty more minutes drive. Me and Tian was up for some boarding action while the rest contented themselves with skiing.
*There's not much snow in Smiggins so we moved to Mount Back Perisher, geared up, and charged the friggid slopes!!!

*We all took two hour lessons for our weapons of choice. My snowboarding instructor was a cute Aussie chick from Newcastle. Maybe I just wanted to spend time with her grabbing me off my aching butt whenever I fall but I suck bigtime at the first board runs. Some tropical dude in snowboards. What do you expect?

Ayun siya, yung may bilog na pula.

Trivia: Mount Back Perisher is some 2014m from the base.

*I started at the Slow Area at the foot of the mountain.
*It snowed and dropped the temperature to minus eight Celsius before we eventually decided to go home. We arrived at the rented place around 7pm. The place is lovely! 10 beds, 4 rooms, 2, living rooms, 2 toilets, furnished, and importantly, warm!
*Grub of the night: pasta, fish and chips, Jim Beam! alak, apple cider, kanin, softdrinks.
*Goof off. Picture uploads (dinala ko laptop). Baraha time (the locals know how to play some Pinoy card games). Toma. World Cup!!!
*I slept in the couch watching football.

Day 2
*Grub of the Day: pasta soup, sausage, egg, tinapay, softdrinks.
*We passed by the skii rentals so that Miss Dynes could swap her skiis to toboggans.
*Rushed back to Perisher Valley. It was snowing hard the other day so today the snows were thicker PLUS they've opened the snow generator the whole day. Freakin cold!
*Marvs and Cindy took another skiing lesson. The rest just goofed around with their weapons of choice. I had some few runs with my snowboard on the Slow Area.
*Grub for Lunch: 9 piece chicken nuggets, beef burger, tubig.

*After lunch, I set off for more runs on the begginer slope. I can't feel my bloody cheeks! Good thing by mid afternoon the sun warmed the place up a bit. That's when I decided to take it to another level... I caught the lift up to peak height with Marvin. It was quite a sight up there. The full moon was up already and it was spectacularly huuuge down here. I dunno, maybe we're closer to the moon here than in Phils (that's IF there's no SMOG blanketing the nightsky).

Kapayapaan.

*The trek downslope was reaaally cool! Marvs got this video of me somewhere halfway the trip down the mountain. At this point, I was pretty confident with my boarding skills already. I could will myself what direction to go and when to slow or go faster. Nakakangalay lang sa paa mag maintain ng balance so anytime na masakit na paa mo, no choice but to fall off in your arse. You can't just stop and stand in the midst of a steep drop.

*Picture gallore. Snow fights. Goof off. Chinita hunt. Hehe.
*After the day's fun, we headed back to the skii rentals to return all the gears we had. Drove back to home, next.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Violet beannie! Violet jumper! Di nyo lang kita, pati undies ko violet! Woot!

*Grub of the Night: Adobo!, steamed veggies, fish and chips, pasta soup, softdrinks.

*We got ourselves comfy to watch the next World Cup match when this gorgeous Dutch girl knocked on the door. She's from the neighboring unit and was asking if she could watch the football game... her hometown Netherlands versus Serbia were on schedule that day (They won). The Aussies she was with in her unit were watching rugby that's why she somehow have to look someplace to watch. She's such a football girl. I think it's cute how she has spoken all this Dutch term for the football rules and how lovely she pronounced em. Basta, she's a wonderful lady. Bad thing we weren't able to get photos of her. Masyado kaming enchanted to even think about it perhaps.

*I slept at the couch. As usual.

Day 3
*We headed back home and passed by the new Parliament House in Canberra along the way. Toured around the place. Got tons of pictures (wacky or not). Bugger everyone there who wanted peace and quiet bcuz we're just loud. Sang a "Happy Birthday" song to a picture of Queen Elizabeth II on a wall (Thanks Queen for the holiday!). Ate on a Thai resto.

*We made it just in time before the Australia versus Japan match started. Socceroos won three is to one!!! Suck it!!! Wooot! Bought me a yellow baseball cap from Quicksilver at the snowies just to support Team Australia's colors. Worth it. Woot!

Wow naman... I've never gone skiing before (obvious naman, kasi walang snow sa pinas) pero I've been ice skating since I was ten to know how cold it could get out there. (buti pa nga sa rink controlled ang temperature..)

You were really great with snow boarding, I think it's a lot harder than skiing.

Waah, it's so cool that you get to travel to many places outside of the Philippines.

Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog as much as you could. That gesture is enough to make my heart melt, aww.

Anyway, have a lovely week ahead! May more surprises await you.
