We Heart Minions
Watched "Despicable Me" in 3D last weekend with the girlfriend. I realized we may have watched it too late when the entire left flank of the cinema is devoid of patrons sans us! Uh well, more space for us. :)
"Despicable Me"
Along with his horde of cudly minions and mad-doc retainer, Nefario, he schemed to steal THE MOON! Key to this plan is to infiltrate Vector's lair and steal a Shrink Ray with the unlikely help of three orphan girls whom along the story, he grew really fond of. This tapped his hidden daddy potential and became less the criminal he wanted to be.
The rest of the story is pretty much fairy-tale-predictable thereafter.
Nothing really noteworthy about the plot so I'll scrap mulling over that. The story flow is interesting not mainly because of the story itself but because you'll be eager to see more of the visual treats. There's virtue in the film, yes, but most animated films have values anyway so meh, nothing interesting on that perspective as well.
Typical things aside, I think what made the film different and refreshing is the way how it entertained the audience with a mix of humor and visuals. The lines are witty and hillarious and most of the time you'll either just laugh your arses off or go gaga over the characters' cuteness. The short clip running on the end credits is a bonus fun!
The casts are perfect, voices are a perfect match. I like Carell's accent... it's so evil. Again, Agnes voice is really charming for a kid. The minions' pseudo-language reminds me of the Ewoks (I can even hear Tagalog in there but I may be just imagining) and it's so goofy.
In all, it's a stress-reliever, one for the family, or with a loved one, or basically with whoever you can drag with you to watch it. AND I strongly recommend you (whoever you are) watch it. Also, the appeal is better on 3D.
10 of 10 chittering minions!
