Arpee Tayo!

Saturday

Ayaw talaga. Aba, ayus. Me libre pa pala sa Earth.

Warmachine game sa tambayan: my Circle Orboros army against Kei's Trollblood

Half of my Circle Orboros (Baldur the Stonecleaver) army
L-R: 2 Swamp Gobber Bellowers, 3 Shifting Stones, Baldur the Stonecleaver, Woldwarden, Woldwyrd
***my paint pots on the background... iL post more pictures of my army as soon as I got to finish painting them all!

The rest of the day went so so. I often hangout on weekends in my "laid back look"... sosyal na term sa "pormang iskwater"... tsanelas, tshirt na luma, shorts, and all (combo pa ang hindi inahit na balbas). That day, however, I was in my jeans and sneakers. I intended to watch a film, that's why. Kaso, tinamaan ako ng katamaran. So, iniwan ko ulet yung mga kolokoy sa tambayan and roamed around the tiangge area.

Trip ko mag eksperimento ng japorms once in a while.

Sunday
Walang airsoft. So, natulog ulit ako ng up-to-sawa. Woooh!

Pagka-gising, niyaya ko ang Tribong Espiritu sa Robinson's Place-Malate ("Arpee" sa mga konyo... as in "tara cumm'on, let's go to Arpee naaaaah!"). Si Mommy Groovy, Ako, Bon Pengo, at Sponklong.

I'll write a separate film commentary about it. Sila Mami naman e nag ikot ikot. Nagkita kami ulet after the film showing and after ko malibot yung bagong annex ng Arpee. Naka-iskor ako ng mga sumusunod na chechebureche:

* dalwang maangas na caps @ Penshoppe - kinuha ko right out of the display stand yung isa. angas e.

* straw bracelet @ Juluca - mahal neto tangena. Kung hindi lang talaga ako nagandahan e. Napaka-tribal kasi ng dating e.

* dalwang Starwars books @ Power Books - may bagong series ako na kinokolekta e, set some years after the New Jedi Order saga. SPOILER: magiging Sith si Jacen Solo! (Belat sa spoiled!)

* eyewear @ i2i - tutubing salamin.

Still, gusto ko siyang basahin.

Kumain kaming mag-anak sa Teriyaki Boy. Patok talaga dun. Yub yub.

The End.

Same'oh, same'oh.

Things Girls SHOULD Know

Got this from an email by a friend. Guy power!

The Guys' Rules

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down. Finally, the guys' side of the story. I must admit, it's pretty good. We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!

Please note... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sports. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. "Yes" and "No" are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of them makes you sad or angry, then we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle, besides we know you will bring it up again later.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, cars, basketball, the shotgun, or golf.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have t o sleep on the couch tonight...

But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Maki Baka, Wag Kuneho

"Luha"
by Obi
(Feb 18, 2008)

Maaga kami pinauwi sa trabaho nung nakaraang Biyernes.
May rally sa kanto.
Bida si Lozada. Kontrabida ang mga trapo.

Gloria resign! Gloria resign! Gloria resign!

Weekend Reports

Saturday
Balloon Festival 08
Attendance: Pork, Pookiemonster, Pochollo, Fluffy, Crispy Beef, Chopsuey

We arrived at the events field by around 11AM. I've just known then that the IPMS-BAC has an exhibit of model aircrafts and miniature kits there so some of us (including me) were able to get in for free via an official events crew ID provided for Sir Mel's honchos.

In display...

Location: Hangar Bay 2 (rightmost hangar if we're facing towards the runway)
* International Plastic Modellers Society - Bert Anido Chapter - pant... pant... pant! - (IPMS-BAC) exhibited some of their members' model aircrafts and miniature kits. Our very own pal, Fritz, has some projects in display.
* an organization of remote-controlled aircraft enthusiasts showcased their "toys".
* a gallery of photos taken from the event itself has its own display section.
* aeronautic schools' booths were setup to recruit new enrollees.

Location: Hangar Bay 1 (the hangar adjacent to the main entrance)
* S211 jet on static display.
* military men posers a.k.a. airsoft cosplayers were strutting around. They were distinctive from the regular soldiers because they were either too flabby to be real jarheads or toting hi-tech guns and wares that the local military can only dream of in its entire existence. Pwede magpa-photo ops sa kanila. yun talaga silbi nila.
* our army men... the real McCoys... eto yung mga taong ibinabala ng Pilipinas sa kanyon laban sa mga terorista. Meron silang sariling section.
* World War 2 jeepneys with real Army drivers on the drivers seat.

So we just ogled at everything in display and repeatedly wished for somebody among us to actually have accidentally brought a cam (or a camera would have just appeared out of nowhere).

Location: Open Field behind Hangar Bay 2
* Pinoy tanks on static display. there was a Simba, a British-engineered Scorpion, and an M113 variant.
* Kapamilya caravan with variety shows.
* kite flyers. LOTS!
* one long food arcade.

By around 2 in the afternoon, we went off the premise for a while then drove to the Marina Arcade in Dau for another military-gears raid! It was only the first week of February and we have visited Marina for like thrice already this year! Insanity over military jujus, I say. I was able to purchase a military OD walking shorts that I outrightly wore. I'd still preferred wandering around in shorts than in pants.

Back in the Clark fields, nakaramdam na kami ng kumukulong tiyan (wala yung tindero ng calamares sa Dau) so we eyed this German booth that served Veal and Hungarian sausages. Yub yub yub! To combo our sausages, nag-order din kami ng sauerkraut (German atsara) at authentic German beer (Pilsener)! Na aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang sarap. Taena kulang pa espasyo sa madaming "a" to describe it. May nagustuhan akong beer dati sa Sydney (Toohey's) kasi para siyang may lasang San Mig Lights. Pero itong German pilsener mas maganda yung pagka-malty niya. Just right not to be too much and not too lacking to taste almost like water.

* acrobatic display of two light airplanes by Pinoy pilots.
* fly-by run of a sleek, state-of-the-art chopper.
* a Malaysian para-glider wandered around the Clark field airspace.

Ang ironic, it was a balloon-fest but no balloons was able to inflate all the time we were there. Malakas kasi ang hangin. We basically just gave up and called it a day, then headed to Aling Lucing's - the mecca of pork SISIG! Wahhhoooow!

Sisig massacre ensued, before we headed back home. Tambay at da Shak, afterwards, for a wrap-up.

Sunday
Somalia Battle Creek Brawl 08
Attendance: Chopsuey, Junbacca, Kornpleks, Inggo, The Boss, Jeng, Garrkid, and the rest of Gemini's Private Army

Location: San Jose del Monte, Bulacan (Team SJAG's gamesite)
* it was the second day of the Battle Creek Brawl but the airsoft adiks still numbered almost 30 against 30.
* Layla - my HK51 submachine gun - was out-of-action, as Bilog tinkered with its internals from the major stoppage it did the last time I fielded the gun.
* Lawnmower - my AK74 assault rifle - did the job the whole day... and boy, it did well. I was still awed with its new color. Ang gwapa gwapang baril. Mwah mwah.
* the game was generally nice sans some minor reports of Zombies prowling.
Contractor-look starting a trend. Truly, you can take the ass out of the jack but you can't take the looks out of a jackass. Hehe, wala akong naintindihan sa sinabi ko.

preparing Mister Lawnmower (AK74 assault rifle)

Location: Dolores Chicharon (Sta. Maria, Bulacan)
* going ga-ga over chicharon. Bumili ako ng isang plastik na backfat, chicharon, at isaw manok. Yub yub! Sakitan ng batok afterwards.

Dinner at Nato's afterwards. Truly, two headz are better than none. Walang nag-Pulang Kabayo, this time. Bawal. Wala si Val. Hehe.

Sabay tambay ulet sa Shak before going home at around 2AM.

You are very open with your feelings, and you're quite vocal in expressing them.

You are sincere and kind. You love many people - without any sort of agenda.

Why you would make a great pet: You're content to chill out with your friends

In fact, when you can channel your energy productively, it only increases!

Maki Baka, Wag Kabayo

I rarely engage myself into listening or watching political shit on the tv/radio. Last night was one of those rare moments. I was painting my miniatures and chose the hubbub inside the then ongoing "vote of no confidence" (as how the Starwars' Galactic Senate called it) inside the House of Congress as ambient sound.

Normally, I would choose one of those primetime telenovelas or just switch on the music (if the telenovela fan's club in our house would permit) but the talks in the Lower House were outright entertaining (sadly) to pass. Speaker de Venecia was on the hot seat. Will he stay or will he not?

Some Representatives would ought to explain their votes and these have been the segments where it got amusing.

One congresswoman, who kept on shouting her speech adamantly (trying hardly to fashion an impact through voice pitching?), forgot to state her vote as she was carried away with her oration (which frankly din't make sense to me, no matter how much vigor she exerted on it) and strode off the rostrum as soon as she was done with it. The House was laughing their arse off as the acting Speaker called her back for her vote (which she still yelled, "YES I WANT CHANGE MISTER ISPEKER!"). Wahaha. Bloopers.

Another one intently made a joke about his vote though. He voted, "Yes, yes, yes!"

"...but count that as a single "Yes", Mister Speaker," he continued.

But an overwhelming LOT was soooo disappointing (still in an entertaining way). They invoked their rights to have a three minute explanation of their votes just to waste on:
1. recounting their political memoirs and/or achievements and attempted (unsuccessfully) to connect it with the issue at hand (parang yung teacher ko dati sa Filipino na ang buong lesson sa isang araw ay nauubos sa kwento niya ng buhay nya noong 19-forgotten)
2. enumerating their constituents' grievances (so they said) and blamed it to the ruling body (or any convenient scapegoat that eventually still pointed down to the Speaker et al.)
3. describing (metaphorically and/or circuitously) the meaning of "political change" and "moral revolution", which every single soul inside the Congress (should) knew anyway (gusto lang ipamukha sa lahat na may naiintindihan sila sa nangyayari - kuno, OR na marunong silang magsalita ng English - kahit binabasa lang naman nila yung script na ginawa ng writer nila)
4. telling (rather, proudly) to the Lower House that their votes went to the mandate of their political party (as if they were lapdogs who could not think for themselves... so saaaad)

One of my personal favorite was this discourse delivered by Party-List Representative Teddy CasiƱo. He told that he was NOT voting "NO" just because he was in favor of Speaker de Venecia appointed on his seat but because it was not for the general benefit to have a change in leadership at this moment of political struggle. He added (and it was obvious anyway) that this entire drama was just another plot by the administration to establish control over the Congress (since JDV just denounced his support to GMA).

He said his political party had a meeting prior to the (then) ongoing ruckus and proposed an advocacy towards a unanimous "YES" vote for the group. But at the last minute, he wished to abstain for the fact that he followed his own reasoning and has chosen not to be swayed by any external machination. I can just imagine the scorn in the faces of his party mates but this Representative is what a political man should be made of... a reason why no matter how bullcrap the government was, there were still sparks of hope for real democracy.

Haha... now I sound like a broken AM radio slash radical activist leader, yes?

*****

Week Ends

Saturday Morning, "Quiapo Raid"
Due to sudden turn of events, wala kaming oto ni Pork. So commute kami and from Kamias, we rode to Anonas then took the train to Recto. Hyper nostalgia everywhere!

Kahit san ako tumingin may natatandaan akong nakaraan!

I mean, if you really meant to cut down piracy on this area, then it should not be that hard. Ang malupit nito yung mga MAY KAPANGYARIHAN!!! e mga ilang ulit na din bumalik sa area na ito para mang-raid... but it turns out, papiktyur lang lahat tsaka konting paalala sa publiko na may ginagawa sila... kuno. Hehe.

Anyway, it was nice to be back walking along the stinky streets of Quiapo. Weird but true. Nung taga San Miguel pa ako, my time going home has never been different than now (at least, most of them)... 1AM to 3AM! Yung "gulo" ng mga tao niya sa paligid ang assurance ko... or maybe that was what made me immune to it.

Ang nabili ko that day...

Saturday Evening, "Population Cap at Da Shak"
The boyz started trinkling in to make the day a record-holder of the year... at least, for now.

Most boyz at da Shak at 25 denizens in a single day! Parking lot outside, jampacked! Coke-meter was up into 6 or 7(?) 1.5 bottles. I contributed a page worth of new drawings in da Shak logbook.

Attendance: Pork, Phatboi, Jumping Johnny, Longx, Doc Komax, Fides, Kaptin Inferno, Riderman, Jeng, Ed, Mechanically Separated Chikken, Inggo, Lloyd, Omeng, Kaptin Klepto, Kuneho, Jan Liit, Topherboy, Hairy Critter, Mayor Tengco, Fluffy, Jubay Bomber, Kaptin Kantor, Fred Kalbo, Obi, Anito - Champion of Nurgle

The natives were restless! As a semi-quarantine talks ensued between Pol and his titas. A-BA-NGAN!

Sunday Whole Day, "Battle of Masada"
Regular Sunday airsoft games at Camp Masada with our team - Screaming BB's.

It was nice to see some friends again from Team Apocalypse, and the actual games were not so bad either. The weather was drizzly and just perfect for the action. Yub yub!

Attendance: Junbacca, Jinggoy, Omeng, Obi, Hervi, Garrdude, Val Sort-Of

Inggo surprised me with the spanky newly colored Lawnmower - my AK47. It's now in two-tone black and Olive Drab green! Layla - my HK51 - is next in line to get a repaint of the same color scheme. Magkaka-mukha na lahat ng AK47 namin!

I still haven't used the Beretta pistol that I got from Garrboy. But I'm thinking to have it painted with the same colors too. No hurries there though since I haven't thought of a name for it yet anyway. Ano ba magandang pangalan?

Beretta 92 Pistol

Dinner at Nato's in Kamuning afterwards. Wala munang Pulang Kabayo. Wala si Val eh.

Room Sweet Room

Happy Birthday Junbo!

Top Pic: Bozz Beef and Me
Lower Pic: George, Me, Zeb the Destroyer, Junbo

Hehe.

Kagahapon, after work, sibat ako papuntang Morato sa shop nila Jun. The store closed at around 8+PM and from there headed to Nato's-Kamuning... happy hour time! Sinundo ni Bilog si Val. Nagbayad ako sa shop ng natira kong dues for having my rifle "Layla" fixed (posterity info).

All time fave ko pa din doon yung ginataang mixed sea foods. Yub yub! Umabot kami dun up until 11pm then headed to da Shak para tumambay with the other boyz.

Doc Komax was there with his mayor(?) uncle having their M16(?) rifle tinkered by mad doc Jan Liit. Joma and Jumping Johnny were busy modelling their B52 Stratofortress miniature (but not really) aircraft, while Mike do the "boating" (bangka sa kwento). Hahaha.

Bangenge kaming nagkwentuhan. He has this M15 RIS rifle as birthday present. He was cradling it the whole night!

Class dismissed at 12 midnight... at least, for me. Only to find out afterwards (at home!) that I left my house key on my other bag! So... pfft... kalmado ako. I'll just gonna wake em up with a call as I did before when shit like this happens. BUT I found out that my celphone has no batt left... AND to top it, "you're prepaid balance is below 20 pesos... blah blah blah"... di na ako pwede tumawag! Argh.

Pinagpawisan na ko bigla. I started knocking... then pummeling the door, wishing somebody from the upper floor could hear me although I know (but I don't want to believe) that it is near impossible. Gamantika matulog ng mga yun AT 1AM na! Can't (and SHOULD NOT) make my noise any louder, if I don't want to wake the neighbors and sent em out clutching their guns (nakatira ako sa isang base militar... hindi ko sasabihing sa Villamor).

Dumating yung katabing bahay namin from God-knows-where. Kaching! Baka may magandang anak. Haha. Joke, hindi yun ang una kong naisip. Me being me, nadyahe ako syempre so I faced it like a man, demmit. So she told me I could just ring em when I can't, then she left.

Ginawa ko pumunta ako sa pinaka-malapit na checkpoint sabay nakitawag kay Sarge to our house. The phone's at the ground floor too so assssaaaaaa pa din ito. But heck... iL gamble. Yahooow. Kala ko babalik ako aaaaaaall the way back to da Shak (Pasay to Kamias) para makitulog.

* eyewear @ i2i - tutubing salamin.

* kite flyers. LOTS!
* one long food arcade.

* fly-by run of a sleek, state-of-the-art chopper.

Room sweet room!
