Blog Club

She informed me last week about this blog group she and her friends set up and simply called
BlogClub. Check it out if you have time to spare. I believe they recently created a forum for bloggers to interact with each other. It's a little world after all, so give it a hit.

Anyway, she made me answer a couple of questions and these were posted on
BlogClub as profile entries of their members. My answers were posted here but if you're lazy enough to check the link iL just post it here anyway... catch!

where do you blog? [specify blog host]?
got a Friendster blog but I haven't updated since my last entry which was posted the same time as it was created. I'm sticking with blogspot.

why did you choose that host?
i started as an outright idiot in blogging and it just happened that blogger was the first host that appeared when you type "blog" in Google. Try mo.

how often do you blog?
when i feel like it. around four times a week on an average.

when did you start blogging?
on a sluggish and boring weekday, early February, 2005.

how did you find out about blogging?
saw Ala Paredes's blog (who doesn't?) and I researched what this blog was all about. Initially, after learning what web logs are, I wanted to start one just to keep track of the progress I am making with my hobby projects which is miniature painting (Warhammer 40,000). But apparently, it still ended up as a personal one.

what makes blogging different from a written journal?
definitely, the convenience of having not to literary carry/worry/keep a blog always will outweigh every advantages a written journal has. syempre, bukod sa magka-iba ang spelling. =)

what time do you blog and why?
mostly during my breaktime here at work. that's midnight for you normal Earthlings.

how many blogmates do you have?

whose blogs do you visit everytime you are online?
blogs ni Kassy, Tin, Justice League (tropa blog namin), and Jill (Barenaked). Links are at my blog. Syempre.

name the top 5 blogs you've read and what makes them so different if not special?

4. Kassy - she has two blogs actually and i like her inspirational thoughts (not to mention that she manages a band. galing.)

3. Jill (Barenaked) - astig. enough said.

2. Bianca Gonzalez - she's such a sweetheart. on and off cam.

1. VJ Ala - well, the princess of Philippine blog. what else?

what topics, subjects, issues do you like to blog about?
anything that comes to mind basically. so far i have entries about environmental protection, religious and inspirational viewpoints, responsible sex advocacies, and "free the political prisoners" propagandisms.

which site[s] do you consider most helpful to bloggers?
unkymoods. it will help bloggers keep track of their father's everyday moodswings.

aside from the tagboard, what other things does your blog have? [e.g hit counter, horoscopes. Etc]
aside from the entries too, ayt? mayrong tagatingin kung ilan ang tambay, may listahan kung sino ang mga tambay na ito, may maliit na sulok para sa ritrato ko, may isang gilid para sa mga ritrato ng halo-halo, may sisidlan ng mga paborito kong bisitahing website, tsaka may anik anik sa tuktok na umiibo-ibo.

what makes you read someone else's blog?
kapag astig yung entry tsaka sapat para bigyang atensyon.

what do you do to attract other bloggers to read your blog?
i don't intend to "attract" bloggers at the most basic meaning of the word but I'm at least keeping the blog "cooL" so as to reflect my personality and my attitude that I want to project on my entries. Thus, I can give it justice when I say, "my blog is me" and I do my blog layout as to more reflect myself.

am I making sense or sleep-deprivation's kicking me up again? =D

Ayun.

Was tagged by Rain, and I'm suppose to make a list of things that lowers my stress/blood pressure/anxiety level...

Here are mines...

1. one long and sound sleep
2. Warhammer 40,000 miniature painting sessions (autistic mode ako pag nagpipinta)
3. tugtog gitara... tralala

I'm A Baller

The game was fun. Almost everyone here in the office played.

My game was a bit cranky. Around 15 minutes pa lang ako sa game nararamdaman ko na yung pagod and napaka-cumbersome ng feeling ko that I settled with set-shots instead of my usual game style na power charge towards the basket.

Since last leagues notorious na kami as team na malakas mang-alaska.

Play Ball!

Since we (HP-GRAD Basketball Team) finished second last March on this company-sponsored basketball league, I never had the chance to play ball again. I'm a baller for life. I love the thrill of the hardcourt. But recently there had been no chance that I could hug that orange ball on a real-deal basketball scenario again, either because I'm busy with work or busy with my hobby.

Luckily, it's not until today. For this afternoon, me and my colleagues here at work scheduled a "friendly" (I hope) game at a court here in Makati. We still have to rush back to the office afterwards though but I believe our allotment of two hours should be enough to conjure those ol basketball talents and jumpstart those corroding shots.

I can't wait. Literally.

iL post stuff about the game later here with some pics perhaps.

Balyahan na!!

What A Wonderful World

I just read this yet-another-political essay from a thread I often visit. It was writen as a rebuttal for this some-other-political essay currently circulating and claiming fame in the Pinoy webways. Both are discussing about the current Philippine political crisis - ano pa ba!?

When I read the first one, I actually wanted to give the author (some aka-Jawbreaker) a pat-in-the-back for a remarkable piece, but having read the rebuttal (by some aka-Jologs) made me think twice regarding the former's points of argument. Actually, both pieces held strong contentions that I'm still undecided on what side I will incline to believe in.

I don't want to go in detail on both essays or even post their entries here for that will mean I'm subjecting myself to be a channel of proliferating their opinion and further confuse the "masses". Ask me for a copy of both though and I might send you a copy, but I have to beg you not to distribute it anymore.

So ano ang point ko?

The smackdown is I realize that what makes the current situation more chaotic and problematic the least is that there are a heck LOT of contrasting opinions and ideas which although speaks sense and haphazard truth, will help none but to feed our mind with confusing propagandist concepts.

Kahit ako... guilty!

Yan ang problema ng Pilipinas. Andaming taong matalino.

Sinabi ko na din 'to once... a "change" must start from the primal composition of a society in order for it to creep up the network and into the entirety itself. If you want change then shut up whining and start from yourself.

Too Lazy To Even Think of A Title

I'm too lazy to compose something worth reading today. Y'know about those times when you wanted something witty or inspirational to post but you're too sloppy to even cehck if yuor splelnig is crorcet?

Ganun.

Not that I have anything sensible to write about me today too.

I could write a poem for this entry, and that would be at least decent if not remarkable. But somehow I'm not in the mood to immerse in a bubble of mushy thoughts; and if it isn't mushy, it is mostly likely not my work. Besides, I seldom satisfy myself with my own literary works so if...

1) My mood's not set to literary mode, or
2) There's no critic-slash-friend around who will "assess" my work...

...I'd rather not write at all.

On the other hand, I could go philosophical and throw an adage or two to relate on the happenings today but all my mind permitted to be harvested was three archaic proverbs from my childhood. And heck for blogger's sake, iL just share them anyway...

J.A.P.A.N. - Just Always Pray At Night

I.T.A.L.Y. - I Truly Always Love You

L.I.B.Y.A. - Life Is Beautiful, You Also

Justice League: Roadtrip Ilocos - Part Tatlo

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Kunwaring kumagat.

Baka may maiuwi akong masamang sumpa o espiritu. Nyaykupow.

Stop over lang.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Napatunayan namin to nung time na nag-underwater pictorials kami sa Sinait. Eh pagkaaaahirap-hirap sumisid!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
From JL, with love.

Last but not the least, natutunan namin na malapit si Man sa mga ladies na more mature than him. Napaka-bilis ng mga pangyayari and the mutual feeling was instantaneous. Napahanga tuloy kami sa charisma ni Man.

Presenting, Ka Toyang...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
"Love Moves in Mysterious Ways"

Ika nga ni Elly... "They try to tell us we're too young... Toyang to really be in love!"

Ayus!

Pag daan ni Man sabi ni Manang (in Ilocano), "Ay sino ga ire, pagka-gwapo eh."

Ehehe. Katay.

Kaso ayaw pagbigyan ni Man. Isang kiss lang e.

Bye Toyang! Till we meet again! Aguy aguy!

iL just post the underwater pics when they became available. hek hek hek.

Commercial Break

Before I continue with the third part of the JL:Ilocos Trip, i just want to participate with this music baton party Kassy had thrown for us.

I have to choose five songs that are meaningful to me and explain why, then pass the music baton to somebody else. Here's my shot at it:

BANG!

1. "Somebody" by Depeche Mode - Except that the heartbeat on the background is creepy, this song described most of the basic traits that someone must possess before I could consider her to be a partner for life... my loveydoves... my chuba-chuchu.

2. "All My Life" by America - Syempre kung my hinahanap ako sa magiging sweety-candy ko, dapat meron ding ialay sa kanya ang honey-cookie nya. So for me, this song will be it. It illustrated what I'm capable of offering to someone I will truly love. Naks.. astig!

Pogi points ka, dong!

3. "Mama" by Spice Girls - Tadyakan ko talaga mag-react sa Spice Girls. Nyahaha. Nah, seriously, those girls captured everything that I thought of and wanted to tell to my mom through this song.

4. "Closer To You - Utada Hikaru Rendition" - Exactly for hopeless romantics like me... for those born losers on love who think that the moons revolve on their planets and those planets revolve around the sun and the sun revolves around the one they love. Hay. Pesteng love. You'll know what I'm blabbering about when you hear the song. Ask me for a copy.

5. "Come Together" by the Beatles - For simply being the best and loudest Beatles song that we (me and the band i used to play with) could perform.

Ay bitin...

Now I have to pass the music baton...

Hmm... handing it down...

To Ka Tins
To Ka Mai Lyte
To Ka Mina

Ayan panay sa mga Lasalista. Ehehe. Bias. Animo!

Ay teka wait... sayo din Manang Jill!

Apir!

Justice League: Roadtrip Ilocos - Part Deux

Sa pagpapatuloy...

Wala pa din yung underwater pics namin. Mas astig yun eh. Ibig sabihin may part three pa.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Ehehe. Peace.

Eto ang highlight. Ako na! Nanginginig kong tinungo yung dulo ng isang malaking sanga. I'm innately afraid of heights.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Obi, Wacha, Ayn, Dan, Man

Next stop, Fort Ilocandia and MalacaƱang of the North. Ehehe, tama ba?

After nun, kumain kami sa La Moda sa Laoag. Sikat daw na pansitan yun eh. Kumain na kami dati ni Dan dun nung unang punta namin and as usual like before, hindi naman kami ipinahiya ng La Moda. Astig pa din pansit nila. Bilog ang tiyan kong nag grocery ng mga gamit at beer namin (or ni Man lang) para sa Pagudpod. Tapos, hit the road ulit!

Stop over number four yung Windmills ng Ilocos Norte. 11 ata yun na giant wind power plants. Ganda ng site from the viewdeck.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Pang-Friendster

Yung golf. Ilabas na ang mga San Mig Lights! Golf! Golf! Golf!

Guess who dropped by the next day.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Pareho kami ng posing ni Heart. Pareho kami ng abs ni Echo. Nyahaha. Dream on.

Panalo.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
PWEEDEEEE!!!

Activities namin that day after nila maglangoy (yep, sila lang. nag ala KJ ako at tinamad mag swimming) ay patintero.

Before heading straight to Sinait though, we stopped by Ferdinand Marcos's mausoleum first. The crypt was creepy. Amoy formaline na sa paligid and even the late President was like a wax model na. That's because the corpse is really a wax model although inside it was still Marcos's remains.

After that, derederetso na kami pabalik kila Dan. Dun na kami nag lunch before hitting the road to Vigan for our final destination before going back to Manila.

But, that will be reserved for my next post on Monday. So ciao for now and abangan ang mga kapanapanabik na tagpo sa...

Justice League: Roadtrip Ilocos - Part Uno

This came too late...

Day 1

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
On the road... Obi Batibot and Man Ngarag

Aray.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Narvacan, Ilocos Sur - Nag-shooting si Panday as FPJ sa grotto on the background

Matapos ulit ang isang tigil para mag-grocery, isa pa para kumain ng hamburger, at ilang repetition ng "The Day You Say Goodbye" ng Hale sa minidisc ni Dan, narating namin ang walang-signal sa Globe na barangay ng Dada 2 - first destination, Apostol's residence.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

In short, inuman na daw. In shorter, gulp gulp.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Negrong Sabog (Ganda ng kulay ko. Parang zebra.)

Day 2. Warm-up 'to para sa trip namin papuntang Pagudpod later that day. Astig yung beach. Kasi wala pa yung pics from the underwater cam. iL just upload them on the second part.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
ARYAAAAA!!!

So there were no fishes harmed during the production of this tour.

Every trip, traditional na dapat may maimbentong laro. Last time sa Zambales yung "Tulong, Obi! Tulong!". This time, ang nakaisip ay si Man, entitled "Tamaan, Sorry". The mechanics is he'll turn around and randomly shoot the speargun in the air towards the area of our crowd. Tapos as the title suggests, ang tamaan ng spear sorry na lang. Hehe.

After nun, balik na kami sa homebase to prepare for the trek up Pagudpod.

Sugod Pagudpod!

On our way, dumaan na din muna kami ng Paoay Church. Astig nung simbahan. Obra maestra yung pagka-antik!

Justice League: Bootcamp Ilocos

Just got back from the trip and my sunburn sears like hellfire. Pero oks lang, I'm a level more moreno than before which I actually like. iL post everything tomorrow since I still have to wait for all the images from our digicams and camcorders to be consolidated. For now, one word will suffice to describe the roadtrip:

The Justice League quotes were inside jokes that I'd rather not write the reasons behind why are they so. Basta alam na ng tinatamaan yun!

Ehehe.

Babayu

After having prepared for the trip, something went up with DD that half-endangered the whole plan. Somehow we'll still push through, less one Justice Leaguer.

So para sa mga Ilocano: AMPAY KUKURAKURAGTAY! WEN BIN LADEN!

Ehehe. Lam ko walang sense sinabi ko.

Walang kelaman ng trip.

Alis na kami!

Ayun.

Aray.

Narvacan, Ilocos Sur - Nag-shooting si Panday as FPJ sa grotto on the background

In short, inuman na daw. In shorter, gulp gulp.

Day 2. Warm-up 'to para sa trip namin papuntang Pagudpod later that day. Astig yung beach. Kasi wala pa yung pics from the underwater cam. iL just upload them on the second part.
