Bakya Mo Neneng

Eureka! Just when I was to purchase this purple Chucks in SM North, I passed by Shoe Rack in Glorietta yesterday and found this lovely lilac Chucks.

It was a love at first sight!

It's an All Star Specialty High model, the one with the standard colored interior. Astig lang talaga yung kulay. Lilac. It seemed too feminine at first glance but I actually tried it on me (and mind you I was wearing my office attire then) and guess what? Not bad! Ang kulit ng kulay grabe. I grabbed it right there and then. iL wear it on our team building in Caliraya this Saturday. iL post some pics of it come Tuesday siguro, of course including pics from the trip.

Me Laruan Ako - Laro Tayo?

I just completed the Jollibee Kiddie Meal Starwars Ep3 figure line. Mukang flip si C3P0. It leans back up to the waist when you slide the base for a Starwars memo. Ampangit pa ng model itself, napaka bland ng color. I was expecting more from it since the Starwars Ep2 C3P0 is definitely cool with its brass hue and well-crafted sculpt.

Anyway, among the four models, astig yung Darth Vader. Ang lupit nung red lightsaber niya, especially in the dark. Hopefully, the battery would stay long though or it'L be nothing but just a fig. Pinaka astig na sculpt ay yung Yoda. I like the battle pose too. Greenskin rockz. \m/

(Darth Sidious actually referred to Master Yoda as his "green friend" in Episode 3)

Tag Board Tambays:
Mai Lyte: add kita in a while. im planning to change template soon. design and brainstorm mode muna ko for now. hehe.
Mhai: iL post pics of my Chucks. ang kulit talaga. pag nakita mo, parang sorbetes ang kulay. ahaha.
Pblogger: salamats! i'm officially "advertised" now. =)
Ozzy: salamat sa tambay. mas unique blog mo! crowded art. keep it ups.
Claud: still whacking up my brain for an idea for a new template. it might take long kasi pinag-aaralan ko pa kung ano yung mga dapat i-modify. =) crush ko si Kitchie! hehe.
Ulan: hi! unfortunately, yes. pano na yung business nyo? Ako, papalitan ko na tong tambayan ko ng bagong template. hehe.

Memoirs of a Monster

...is a brilliant blog reliving the days on the life of the late Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker).

With it's piquant take on the Sith Lord's point of view, Starwars fans will surely be captivated with how the author presented each scenarios. Each entry being provocative by itself, you'll find yourself wanting to stand in ovation each time you finished reading one.

Definitely a must read.

I have already added the link to my "Tambayan", feel free to spend time passing by if you're an "interested" Dark sider, that is.

May the Dark Force be with you!

Jetson's Age

Got this from an email thread... and disturbingly, most are funny but true!

You know you're living in 2005 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that
they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You go home after a long day at work you still answer the phone in a
business manner

7. You make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial "9" to get an
outside line.

8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three
different companies.

10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news.

11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job.

12. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if
anyone is home.

13. Every commercial on television has a website at the bottom of the
screen.

14. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the
first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and
you turn around to go and get it.

15. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.

16. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)

17. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

18. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this
message.

19. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

20. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on
this list.

Aint Over Till It's Over

I passed by Glorietta this afternoon (as every weekdays) and there was this Starwars event happening on the podium area. It was not entirely a "Starwars" affair since there are booths from various sci-fi/fantasy groups along the area but this cosplay performance on the stage showcasing a General Grievous mascot fitted in hand to hand combat against Jedi-costumed performers recreated an air of Episode Three among the onlookers.

I say, the Grievous outfit is so so cool... and mind you, it's not the hooded-cloak get-up but the mechanical four-armed, full battle combat mode Grievous complete with the quad-lightsabers. Astig. Ganda ng pagka-fabricate. \m/

Too bad only two of his arms could move. Parang stationary deer antlers lang yung upper arms. Hehe. But kudos to the designers, still.

Anyway, other booths present during the event (which I don't have any idea what and what for, nor do I have the time to ask) are for - correct me if I'm wrong - Charmed Pinoys (for "Charmed" fans), a group of Harry Potter enthusiasts, LOTR fans, Trekkies (for Star Trek buffs), Neutral Grounds (local distributor of hobby games and of course, my tambayan) and syempre Starwars Philippines.

Neutral Grounds advertised the latest lines of Starwars games including the Stawars collectible card game and the Starwars miniature game by holding demos on their booth.

Wish I could pause for a while to look around (and might even member myself with the Starwars Philippines kapag interesting yung activities nila) but I have to rush here in the office.

Next time.

Curtains Up!

*closes jaw*
Opo, until now I'm still flabbergasted in the phenomenon that is the Starwars Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith!

The anxiously anticipating look...

Taking off from our house at only around 8pm, I charged to the Cinema 2 of Megamall to join the lines of Starwars premiere-viewers, and boy what LINES they've created! As early as 9:15pm (...and the screen time was 10:30pm pa!), may tatlong layers na yung lines papasok ng EVERY CINEMA that will screen Episode III. That's around 5 cinemas in Megamall, I think. Sabi ko na nga ba late pa yung 8pm na alis. Yeah, I know it will be a sure seat but hey bragging rights pa din yung mauna ka sa pila. Ha! I'm not Obi for nothing.

Anyway, on to "my take" of the film. First, a well deserved bravo with matching standing ovation for the digital mastery of Mr. Lucas' creative team. Isang malaking ASTIG ang buong production and no, I'm not worthy to even state how stunning the effects were. Basta ASTIG. Enough said.

Unfortunately, (opo may unfortunate things though) the storyline was not well portrayed as I hoped. Kung starwars fanatic ka, you'll notice and definitely will catch the implication that the story was compressed so as to encompass every vital moments that should happen on the film. Storyline specifics sacrificed in order to come up with a shorter (although it ran for 2 and a half + hours) but explainative film.

As for the lead roles, I still can't ride the casting crew's take on giving the Anakin role to Hayden. I have nothing against the guy or his performance, but the looks. His facial features are so far from the young Anakin in Episode One and definitely too far from the old Anakin in Return of the Jedi. Well, look how the Ep 1 Anakin and the Ep 6 Anakin has similarities but Hayden is just too hawk-faced to be the transition between the two generations of Anakin.

Now, Natalie Portman. Wow. Natalie oh my Natalie. I so so agree when Anakin told her on a balcony in Coruscant, "You are so beautiful". She replied, "Only because I'm in love." The young Jedi retorted, "No, you are beautiful because I am in love." She said, "Then, I'm only beautiful because you love me." HEHEHE. Bokya si Anakin. Ang cheesy kasi eh! Still, you can see the growth in Natalie as an actress and as the rightful owner of the Padme role. And if you'll compare her to Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), they really have similarities not just on the facial features but on the body built as well. Kaya naman carry talaga niya pati yung attitude ni Leia Organa na headstrong and courageous. Not being biased when I say she's outright stunning in every costume changes BUT SHE REALLY IS STUNNING. PERIOD.

Here's a reaction I posted on a forum:
I'm all thumbs-up for the effects and the overall production of the movie, but as a Starwars fan and someone who has backgrounds on what should happen relative to the Starwars timeline, I could say that the storyline was somewhat upset by the constraints of having to shorten the film. Story-wise, Ep3 should have shown more of the important events during that time which could stretch the film to incredulous arse-warming hours in the cinema.

The sacking of the Jedi Temple could have been more "explaining" than just showing clips of this and thats, how much more on the Jedi purge scene. The Jedi should have not been portrayed as that shown in the film after the issuing of Order 66.

It's as if everything was rushed just to give hints of what happened and there's a couple of implicative scenes meant to be just "self-explanatory". some scenes should have been elaborated, me thinks.

Why cant Lord Vader remember what happened to Padme anyway?

Eto na yung pangako kong spoiler.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
You've been warned. Read on at your own risk.

The author is under the influence of four consecutive Triple Choco donuts consumption upon the composition of this literature. Any offence taken, reactions, comments, detractions and the likes should be kept to themselves bcuz I don't give a deym. Hehehe.

Here's a fact: for every Starwars movie, after the prologue fades from view into the void of space, the camera will pan towards a starship above a planet. Observe that. I can only recall some: Taintive I (an Alderan Blockade Runner) over Coruscant on Episode 4, an Imperial-class Destroyer over Hoth on Episode 5, and a Naboo Frigate approaching Coruscant on Episode 2.

As customary, Episode 3 (Ep3) started with the camera panning to a Republic-class Cruiser above the capital city-planet of Coruscant. The scene further evolved into a full-scale firefight between the Republic fleet and the Separatist's Droid Army headed by the insidious General Grievous who held the Supreme Chancellor aboard his flagship as hostage (in which, as Starwars followers should know, was plotted by Chancellor Palpatine himself anyway to lure Anakin to the Dark).

The ensuing sequence featured Obi-wan and Anakin's Jedi Starfighters racing towards Grievous's flaghsip amidst a hail of laserbolts (that part of the battlezone was so tight with starcrafts and fireballs that even a fist-sized asteroid won't be left unscathed, but heck they are Jedi!). In short, they made it inside the flagship and eventually faced-off with Count Dooku, Palpatine watching from captivity. In the duel, Kenobi got unconscious and Anakin eventually went into a predicament of killing or sparing the life of the Sith Count, which of course (through the taunting of the "evil" Chancellor and the thirst for revenge of losing a hand to him in Episode 2) ended up with Dooku beheaded.

With all things falling as he deviously schemed, Chancellor Palpatine gradually enacted his last and most evil plan to turn the then doubting Anakin Skywalker to the knowledge of the Sith, capitalizing on the latter's desire to stop the impending death of his wife (deym I should be her husband) Padme. Padme is pregnant and on a "Force dream" (a dream that somehow shows an imminent future), Anakin saw her dying after laboring for their child and that's what made him unpredictable althrough after that event. There's this instance when the Chancellor made him an official representative of the Republic to the Jedi Council, only to be counteracted by the Jedi Council to put Ani on the seat but not made him a Jedi Master which of course irritated the young, whiny Jedi Knight (Now this one is crap according to the original Jedi lore. Members of the Jedi COuncil are NOT always suppose to be Jedi Masters. Now why the heck our crying baby, Anakin wanted the rank in relation to being posted as a Council member?? Ask Mr. Lucas.)

To sum up, events unfolded wherein Jedi Skywalker's doubts were starting to be fed with disinformation - toughts of the Jedi hating the Chancellor and dreaming of ruling the Galaxy, thoughts of the Jedi not trusting on his capabilities to be a Jedi Master, thoughts of the Chancellor being a megalomaniacal tyrant in bloom, thoughts of Padme dying (oh no. please, no!), thoughts of his child, thoughts of his action being un-Jedi-ish, and other acts that sunk in to himself all at once. Emotion overload! That was what the movie implied as reason for his brash acts of un-Jedi-isms and his eventual fall to the Dark Side of the Force.

The climax all started when Chancellor Palpatine finally unravelled his true identity as a Dark Side enforcer to Jedi Skywalker. Being the righteous Jedi that time, Ani reported back what he discovered to the Jedi Council. Mace Windu and three more Jedi Knights charged into the Chancellor's office to apprehend the Sith Palpatine but as expected the powerful Palpatine, now the revealed Darth Sidious sprung into action and outright downed three of the Jedi escorts (yes, again another crap. count five seconds please... that's how fast he made three of the arresting Jedi fall. corny), eventually facing off with the esteemed Jedi Master Mace Windu. The ensuing duel is of course one of the highlight fights and will conclude with Palpatine forked with a violet lightsaber blade on his neck. Then came Anakin (still on doubt) and theatrically, Palpatine with a maneuver of his Force lightning made it seem that he was being the underdog on the duel and did his best to get Ani's sympathy with a tear-jerking plea. Mace tried to kill the Sith Lord but Anakin (upholding that Palpatine should not die and stand trial instead), stopped him in time and that's all the diversion Darth Sidious needed. He quickly jerked the Jedi Master away, hitting him with a lethal bolt of Force lightning, killing him in the process. Dumbfounded on what happened and the urge of the Dark side finally taking over him, Anakin agreed to serve the ways of the Dark Force. Sidious baptized him Darth Vader.

On the other hand, Obi-wan Kenobi (who faced of with a four lightsaber-wielding General Grievous!) and Master Yoda, together with most of the Jedi were on separate missions to finally end the Clone Wars as they have pinpointed one-by-one the locations of the Separatist bases, unaware of the impending doom back at Coruscant.

Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) then declared the Jedi attacked him and tagged them as part of the Rebellion. With this, he ordered the clone troopers to annihilate all Jedi, including sacking the Jedi Temple - headed by now Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker). "Show no mercy.." the Sith Lord said verbatim. Darth Sidious then enacted the dreaded Order 66, which will order the clone troopers to kill all Jedi on the planetary missions to quell the Separatist Rebellion. One by one, Jedi were caught in surprise as their own clone trooper kill them on their back, sparing none but Yoda and Obi-wan as they had somehow escaped the treachery (rumormills and Starwars books accounted that there were several more Jedi that actually escaped the Jedi purge).

After the declaration of the Jedi as enemy of the Republic, Chancellor Palpatine summoned an emergency congregation of the Senate wherein he declared, under emergency powers, the declaration of Imperial rule over the Galaxy - a Galactic Empire! Beforehand, he sent Anakin to Mustafar, the lava moon, to finish the remaining leaders of the Clone Rebellion - the Trade Federation headed by Viceroy Nute Gunray. The end of the Clone Wars will front as the success of the Imperial declaration. Darth Vader upon arrival to Mustafar massacred the entire entourage of the Neimodian leaders of the Trade Federation further fueling his anger and fall to the Dark side.

Back in Coruscant, Yoda and Master Kenobi managed to ride along the ship of the Alderan Senator Bail Organa to the Jedi Temple and having fought their way in, they discovered the massacre of the Jedi and Anakin's raising arms against them. Fasttracking ahead, Obi-wan followed his sense to track his former Padawan and went to Mustafar with Padme while Master Yoda "visited" the Sith Lord Sidious. The following duels were outright EPIC in the truest sense - the Jedi Knight Obi-wan Kenobi versus the Fallen Jedi Anakin Skywalker and the Jedi Master Yoda versus the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. (I say Yoda rockz! If Episode 2 is not enough, here in Ep3 the green-skin rockz even more!) The latter's duel ended up in stalemate with Yoda escaping back to the Alderan Blockade Runner. On the other hand, Anakin lost both his legs to Obi-wan and the Jedi Master left his fallen Padawan for dead on the lava shores of Mustafar, returning to Padme who is already in labor. They headed back to meet with Yoda thereafter.

Aboard the Blockade Runner, Padme (the ever stunning) died giving birth to twins which she named Luke and Leia. Both Jedi Masters decided that the babies should be separated to secure them from harm of the Emperor's wrath. Leia was adopted by the kind Senator Bail Organa while Luke was handed to the then young Owen and Beru Lars in Tatooine by Obi-wan Kenobi himself. Kenobi will look for the boy as he will grow up as the stubborn Luke we'll know in Episode 4.

The ending scenes will show the Emperor standing with a younger Moff Tarkin on the bridge of a Republic Cruiser beside the black-clad Darth Vader as we know him from Episode 4. Palpatine had managed to resuscitate him from near death and gave him the ominous ebon life-support armor he had became famous for. They are watching the construction of the Death Star in the Cruiser's viewport. All in transition for the original trilogy. Aztig!!

Start The Countdown

Starwars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Two days and I'm good to go to the premiere showing of Starwars Episode III in Megamall. I already got the tickets I asked a friend to reserve for me so I might as well start the countdown! Yey! I rarely allot a vacation leave for a movie but heck this is Starwars baby! I even had submitted my vacation leave for Wednesday two weeks earlier.

Hindi naman masyado excited no?

Jollibee Kiddie Meal

This night I bought a Burger Kiddie Meal in Jollibee - Philippine First Ayala Branch. Nah, hindi ako bumalik sa pagkabata. It's just that their latest gimmick is Starwars Episode III figures. Back in the Starwars Episode II years, they've also released a 5-figure collection which included Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C3P0, R2D2, and Anakin Skywalker. I got em all five and is in display here on my office desk, and this time there's no reason why I should not purchase the latest collections too.

I started with the cudly Jedi Master, Yoda and the figure comes of with a 20-inch tape measure as a base. Darth Vader, you're next!

Magic the Gathering - Saviours of Kamigawa Pre-Release Tournament

*jargon alert*
Magic the Gathering (MTG) - the Philippine's leading card game - will release its latest expansion Saviours of Kamigawa this May 21 and 22 in SM Southmall and SM Centerpoint, respectively. Saviours of Kamigawa is the third and last installation from the "Kamigawa" block; the first two are Champions of Kamigawa and Betrayers of Kamigawa, in which I have played on both's Pre-Release Tournaments.

Actually, I am already selling some of my MTG cards to pave way for my latest hobby (Warhammer 40,000) but just to "keep up" with the trends in my old hobby, I always participated in MTG Pre-Release Tournaments. It serves to refresh my skills in playing the game and to be updated with the upcoming rules variations and cards errata.

Upon registration, players will be given three packs of 15 cards and a special alternate-art rare foil card from the latest expansion, so participants will got to enjoy and preview the goodies firsthand. After a four-round special Swiss draft tourney, players that will end-up with a sweep win will grab an additional commemorative MTG Pre-Release tshirt while every one win entitles a participant to take home another pack from the pre-release expansion. Fair enough for a fun game.

Of course, this kind of tournaments encourage players to come out of their own hobbying circle and interact with almost everyone from the hobbying community here in the metro. Me and my bestfriend will attend the second day of the tournament in SM Southmall on the 22nd, that's a Sunday. I am already scouting for any latest MTG preview cards and Pre-Release tips in the internet to prepare myself. I want that tshirt to brag around. =)

Three Scoops 'o Ice Cream

An Excercise A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

As per my entry below, there's a new song added to my Media Player's "Everyday" playlist. It follows right after the National Anthem - Yoyoy Villame's "Mag Exercise Tayo". Yes, yes... that's the funky music with the "mag exercise tayo t'wing umaga" lyrics. Well, it's plain reminiscent of our old kindergarten morning routine...

I told you, we were all nuts here in the night shift.

Cinderella - Hear Mine Tidings!

As per my entry last May 2 (Halo-Halo Special - Cinderella), alas there hast tidings of ye purple Chucks! There's a sighting of a pair of purple Chucks in SM North EDSA. Well, after a couple of weeks hunting, I saw a purple hi-cut one in the Landmark too but unfortunately it was plaid with offbeat patterns that inclined to suggest that it's better seen on girls' feet. iL check the one in SM North as soon as I can and hope that the encounter will be a "love at first sight".

Thanks Mhai for giving a deym! So so appreciated!

Everyday

Here in the office, (for some goofy patriotic reasons) we used to end the work day by someone playing out loud on his PC the Philippine National Anthem at exactly 5:00AM (or 6:00AM if on Daylight Saving Time). Trip trip lang. Then, as always should be when playing that song, we are compelled to stand up everytime regardless of what we are doing... yes, sleepy or not. Pati night shift na Manong Guard can't help smiling when we were doing that. Ganyan trippings dito sa "vampire" shift.

Usually, anyone could play "Lupang Hinirang" since we all have a copy of the mp3. Basta kung sino unang makapansin na uwian time na should play the song. However, a Christian colleague had lately always been the one who plays the National Anthem and his playlist includes this Christian song playing right after it. In short, this Christian song had also been a part of our so-called everyday ritual that now that I became in-charge of playing the National Anthem (because the loudest PC speakers was connected to my PC), I still should also play that Christian song. I even created a playlist in my Media Player entitled "Everyday" for those songs aside from "Lupang Hinirang" that should customarily be played too every weekdays. Well here's the list of songs:

"Oh Babe" by Jeremiah (yep, i know. how this song precedes the Anthem? we're using this song to tease an officemate. not really an everyday ritual song... but almost.)

"Lupang Hinirang" by Julian Felipe (we stand up, whether we like it or not.)

"Everyday" by Hillsong United (ironically, yes, this Christian song is titled similar to when it should be played - Everyday!)

"Daliri" by Kjwan (pang-gising song! besides, its basslines sound good in the PC speakers. bumabayo. hehe.)

"Indian Breaks (Remix)" by Punjabi MC (bilog ang mundo! dance hits to end the day as one by one, my colleagues were hitting it off to home. mood setter.)

Anyway, I just want to post the lyrics to the Christian song. The tune's really catchy that's why it didn't had a hard-time tickling our ears. Gimme yer email if ya want a copy of the mp3.

"Everyday" by Hillsong United

What to say, Lord? It's
You who gave me life and I
Can't explain just how
Much You mean to me now
That You have saved me, Lord
I give all that I am to You
That everyday I can
Be a light that shines Your name

Everyday, Lord, I'll
Learn to stand upon Your word
And I pray that I
That I might come to know You more
That You would guide me with every single step I take, that
Everyday I can
Be Your light unto the world

Everyday, it's You I live for
Everyday, I'll follow after You
Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

Everyday, Lord, I'll
Learn to stand upon Your word
And I pray that I
That I might come to know You more
That You would guide me with every single step I take, that
Everyday I can
Be Your light unto the world

Everyday, it's You I live for
Everyday, I'll follow after You
Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

It's You I live for, everyday
It's You I live for, everyday
It's You I live for, everyday
It's You I live for, everyday

Everyday, it's You I live for
Everyday, I'll follow after You
Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

Everyday, it's You I live for
Everyday, I'll follow after You
Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

Relax - See A Movie

I'm so so anticipating for Mr. Lucas' third and last installment of the pre-Imperial saga of Starwars - Revenge of the Sith. For the Starwars afficionados (like me), what's worth waiting is the, well as the title suggests, resurfacing of the dark cult of the Sith which was believed to be vanquished by the Jedi Knights a couple of hundred years ago. If we have seen the Jedi in numbers on the Starwars Episode 2 - "Attack of the Clones", here in the third episode, expect to see the insidious Sith grab the limelight from the noble Defenders of Peace.

For the not-so-fan-of-this-genre, though, don't worry if you might be "forced" to watch the movie because similar to the past episodes of Starwars, there's a touch of romaticism in the film as the "forbidden" relationship between the celibacy-vowed Jedi Skywalker and the charming Senator of Naboo (And boy how charming Natalie Portman really is!) climaxed. So basically this will not be a parody of a typical hard-core sci-fi film, but more of a poignant narrative meant to create a sense of attachment to real-life predicaments. So makaka-relate kahit sino... that I guarantee.

Spoilers aside, like the furious battle between the diminutive Yoda and his former apprentice Count Dooku in Episode 2, Episode 3 will feature another epic duel scene between a champion of good and an avatar of the Dark. I know who will be the duelers but that's for you to wait till the showing. =)

There'll be a simultaneous world premier showing on May 18 here in Manila, 10:00pm in Megamall. I already reserved a sure-seat ticket for two. Hehe. I'm not called Obi for nothing. Ha!

Chippy Johnny - astig. pang-action star. but it reminds me a lot of Johnny Bravo.
Randell Amsterdam - i don't think this name will hit it bigtime as a fashion guru.
Toto Ibiza - now this one's interesting. it has a tang of someone belonging to the crèmè de la crèmè. very natural yet sophisticated in the ears.
R Par - yuck.
Detective Rhino de la Salle - mas parang pang gay bar kesa pang alagad ng batas.
Donut Miller - mamwede-mwede na din.
Espiritu Almaciga - this could be a name on a Mexican soap. y'know, those stuffs have casts names which outrun each others' length like Juanito Pablo del Carmenitas.
Caramel Bullet - now this one will be the source of "boos" from Metallica fans, but a sure firestarter from Queen aficionadas. hehe.
Ranpog Parang - if you are familiar with the Starwars alien races, this name is good for a Sullustan starpilot.
The Contempletative Coins - eto ang makulit. bow ako dito. very very creative. i should have thought of this during my band days. ahaha.

Tale of the Coins - A Theoretical Dissertation

It's eerie how on this day alone I happened to chance upon three coins... a peso coin & two twenty five cents, in three different occassions. First was this morning when I went home from the office. Second was when I went to the laundromat this afternoon. The last one was along my way back here in the office.

Given that, and reminiscent of the series of exams regarding conclusory arguments that I "suffered" in my application in DLSU, I came up with several postulations on what could be the implications of these three coins on my goings-on today.

1) I might be on the process of developing a habit of stooping on the walk. That's why I got the chance to find the coins along my way in the first place. This conclusion further devolves into sub-postulates:

1.1) I have a scoliosis and/or should see a chiropractor soon.
1.2) My self-esteem is degenerating on a steady phase. Thus, the self-effacing stoop.
1.3) I am ugly and I am very much aware of it and I don't want my face seen by anyone. Thus, I should spend more time looking down while walking.

2) Maybe God wanted to give me signs that I should be more thrifty. I mean I am the most voracious spender this side of Makati but at least I know my limits. I stopped depending on my parents for my personal wants right after I got my work and it was then that I realized that it really was not easy to spend a self-earned moolah. Nevertheless, despite that, the compulsion is unavoidable especially when you know that you really have something to spend.

3) That by continued walking while stooping down will earn you something, and is not that bad a source of income. Who knows I might trip on a bundle of 1000 bills next time. I should consider "lost coin hunting" as a profession.

Halo-Halo Special

Cinderella

Where in the corners of the Metro can I found a purple Chucks?

Last Saturday, I scrounged up the Ayala-area malls (Glo, GB, SM, Landmark) for a pair of this in vain. I don't know what got into me but poof! I WANT A PAIR OF PURPLE CHUCKS. San ba meron? Bibili na nga sana ako kahit hindi purple just to satisfy my wants. My choices were this blue hi-cut one with old-school checkered interior from Glo or this orange mid-cut one with an alternate black & white laces from Landmark. I prefer the former's design, ONLY if there's a purple one. Kaso blue and red lang ang stock nila nun. Bummer. Well, next week I might try the Ortigas malls naman (Galle, Shang, Mega) and hope for a better find. Bago maubos sa Warhammer 40K ang pera ko. Hehe.

Hot Stuff

It was deym hot yesterday. Grabe, pwede yata mag prito sa bubong namin ng itlog. AC was turned on (in HIGH COOL), electric fan was in full throttle but mind you, still, naka topless pa din ako sa bahay. AND pinapawisan pa din ako! WTF? Kulit no? I dunno if it was some architectural design that our house should be more warmer than the others o talagang sobrang init lang talaga kahapon. I checked the web for yesterday's temperature and found out that the highest was 32 degrees Centigrade. Grabe. That's a high fever I believe.

On a positive note, nakakatulong din yung ganitong temperature para matupad yung 8 glasses of water a day. Yesterday alone, I downed almost 11 glasses yata. Ganun yata kadami. They're like hyperventillating even when they were transferred on a shaded part of the backyard. Aba aba... gusto din ata sa aircon.

Mix Mix - Konyong Halo Halo

Oh E-extra Pa!

Made myself an Ad Banner so I can submit one to Pinoy Blogger. I also added them to my "Tambayan". Nice groupie there mga tsong!

Special thanks to Addesigner.com for the wonderful Ad Banner. Headline na kayo ng blog ko! Masaya na kayo?

Next time.

Tag Board Tambays:
Acey: oks lang Super Ace! Nood ka na Starwars. Trip mo?

Ha!

Your movie star name: Chippy Johnny

Your fashion designer name is Randell Amsterdam

Your socialite name is Toto Ibiza

Your fly girl / guy name is R Par

Your detective name is Rhino De La Salle

Your barfly name is Donut Miller

Your soap opera name is Espiritu Almaciga
